Compliance Jobs

This week we start at Citizens Financial Group, which just hired Michelle Moosally as general counsel. Citizens poached Moosally from Wells Fargo, where she had been global head of regulatory relations (a job that probably kept her plenty busy) since 2022.

Bastion, a stablecoin infrastructure provider, just announced two risk assurance hires. First, Rohan Kohli has joined the firm as chief risk and compliance officer. Kohli comes to Bastion from Gusto, an online payments and benefits startup, where he had also been chief risk and compliance officer. Second, Beth Gibson has joined as deputy general counsel; she previously worked at Western Union as associate general counsel for regulatory affairs.

And another Western Union item: Patricio Sassano has left WU after 11 years there, most recently as senior compliance officer; to join payments technology firm CPI Card Group as compliance manager.

Specialist insurance giant Hiscox has hired Daniel Williams as chief internal auditor. Williams comes to Hiscox from the IG Group, where he had been global head of internal audit.

Levi Strauss has hired Stephanie Greenfield as senior manager for global ethics and compliance. Greenfield comes to the jeans giant from education technology vendor Chegg, where she had been senior compliance manager.

The University of Missouri System has hired Jim Grimes as chief audit and compliance officer. Grimes joins the university system after a short stint as chief audit executive at Tulane University, and prior to that was head of internal audit at Rapid7, a cybersecurity firm in Boston.

Henrik Haldeborg has a new job as director of compliance at Elevex Capital, an equipment finance firm based in Ohio. Haldeborg joins Elevex after five years at PNC, where most recently he worked on the financial crimes compliance team.

Novo Nordisk Foundation (the nonprofit foundation working under the Novo Nordisk corporate umbrella) has hired Robert Skillington-Smith as senior compliance manager. Skillington-Smith previously worked on the ethics and compliance team at Cadeler A/S for two years.

In Los Angeles, Liza Dela Cruz has joined Alliance Advisory & Securities as chief compliance officer. Dela Cruz previously worked at SteelPeak Wealth as senior compliance manager.

Capital One has hired Danai Franklin as a senior adviser for U.S. card compliance. Franklin joins Capital One after six years at Wells Fargo, most recently as executive director for commercial banking compliance.

Remember Tammy Weinrib, last seen as chief compliance officer at Binance.US until she left the crypto giant at the end of 2023? She just turned up as chief compliance officer at Copper, a digital assets custody business in New York. Looks like Weinrib spent most of 2024 doing her own crypto compliance consulting business.

Lexi Candelario-McCartney has been hired by Fresno State Athletics (the athletics department of Fresno State University in California) as director of compliance. Candelario-McCartney previously worked at Mississippi State University as assistant director of compliance. Go Bulldogs!

Flex, some sort of financial services play that touts itself as an “end-to-end finance platform for businesses,” has hired Allison Pearson as senior compliance manager. Pearson comes to Flex from J.P. Morgan Chase, where she had been a senior compliance manager working on financial crimes.

Paul Cachia has joined Glitnor Group, an online gambling enterprise based in Malta, as head of compliance. Cachia previously worked at Videoslots (with a name like that I’ll just guess it’s another online gambling enterprise), where he was compliance manager.

Architectural and planning firm Gensler has hired Anissa Burnley as compliance counsel. Burnley comes to the San Francisco-based business from Fujitsu Australia Ltd., where she had been commercial and compliance counsel.

And Synchrony, one of those back-office financial technology firms where I don’t really know what they do, has hired Shemel Trapp as an audit manager. Trapp joins the business from Truist, where she had been an internal auditor.

Moving Up the Ladder

Our promotions this week begin at Deluxe Corp., with two personnel items to note. First, Kortney Nordrum has been promoted from chief compliance officer to senior corporate counsel. Nordrum notes that this is the first non-compliance role she’s had in 13 years — but that’s long enough that she remains cool. Meanwhile, succeeding Nordrum as chief compliance officer will be Stephanie Gallagher, who has been director of compliance at Deluxe since 2022.

Antares Capital has promoted Vasana de Almada from compliance manager to senior compliance manager.

Atmos Energy has promoted Todd Fuller from manager of damage prevention (sounds like a role every organization should have) to manager of compliance.

Cargill has promoted Nisha Aggarwal from ethics enterprise and compliance director to senior director.

Etihad Airlines has promoted Shivani Patel from group ethics & compliance manager to senior manager for ethics, compliance, and investigations.

Exyte has promoted Jessica Johnson from senior specialist in legal and insurance to regional compliance officer for the United States.

IKEA has promoted Christopher Grundmann from safety and security manager to risk and compliance team leader.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE, the stock exchange people) has promoted Amanada Adams from compliance executive to director of compliance.

Ionis Pharmaceuticals has promoted Michael Henry from director of compliance to executive director.

KeyBank has promoted Jennifer Schocko from compliance officer to compliance manager.

Mastercard has promoted Kai Yaniz from senior analyst for legal and compliance risk to manager of legal compliance risk.

Mitratech has promoted Jennifer Beck from compliance team supervisor to senior manager of compliance.

M&T Bank has promoted Danielle Greene from compliance adviser to level II compliance manager.

Rush Street Interactive has promoted Andy Lemon from AML compliance manager to senior manager.

Vontier has promoted Courtney Schuster Kamlet, one of the nicest compliance professionals in the Raleigh, N.C. area, from chief governance and ESG disclosure officer to chief governance and compliance officer. (As always, the addition of “compliance” to your title is an automatic promotion.)

And Zalando, an online fashion retailer in Germany, has promoted Matthias Schmitt from head of IT strategy and vendor management to head of IT vendor risk management and compliance.

Vendors & Service Providers

Judy Ringholz, previously the chief compliance officer of Broward Health in Florida, has joined Conflixis (seller of conflict-of-interest management software) as senior managing director.

Jeannie Rausch has joined Transparency International as executive director for Portugal. Rausch had previously been compliance manager at DIA Portugal Supermercados, a discount supermarket chain there.

Charles River Labs is looking for an executive director of corporate compliance and ethics. Job can be remote but CRL’s headquarters are in suburban Boston. Salary range is listed at $260,000 to $280,000, quite reasonable for Boston.
