Compliance Jobs
This week we begin with commodities giant Glencore, which just published a report on its ethics and compliance work in 2024. That report announced that head of compliance Daniel Silver has departed, presumably because the U.S. Justice Department just ended the company’s two compliance monitorships ahead of schedule. Succeeding him as head of compliance is Nicola Leigh, who had been head of Glencore’s monitorship liaison team; she formally takes over as head of compliance on May 1.
Steven Gyeszly has joined Valaris Ltd., an oil services business based in Houston, as chief compliance officer. Gyeszly previously spent 11 years at Marathon Oil (recently acquired by ConocoPhillips), including eight years as chief compliance counsel.
Vanessa Rambo has joined SEKO Logistics as global chief compliance officer. Rambo comes to Chicago-based SEKO from Lamb Weston, where she had been senior manager of trade compliance and operations. She succeeds Lila Landis, who had been CCO until last fall.
In Irvine, Calif., PDS Health just hired Garrett Heenan as vice president of ethics and compliance. Heenan had previously been chief legal officer at Avesis, and was a senior healthcare compliance officer at Walmart before that.
WSFS Bank, a regional player in Philadelphia and Delaware, has hired Kate McGlinchey as chief compliance officer. McGlinchey comes to WSFS (“we stand for service!” and yes, they trademarked that) after seven years at TD Bank, where she had been senior vice president for global risk and compliance, managing various technology and framework projects.
Lila Acharya has left her boutique compliance law firm Crawford & Acharya, to take a job as senior global compliance director at food manufacturer Johnsonville. (Motto: “convoy of juiciness coming through.”) Acharya co-founded her law firm six years ago with partner Angela Crawford, who is keeping the firm going.
Wayfair, the online retailer of home furniture, has hired Jenn Mace as head of global trade compliance. Mace comes to Wayfair after 10 years at rival online retailer Beyond, where most recently she had been director of international supply chain operations.
Rosie Riad has joined Bank of America as vice president and compliance testing specialist. Riad previously worked at Wells Fargo as a quality assurance manager in the bank’s mortgage business.
WEL Companies has hired Steven Seabourn as compliance and risk manager. Seabourn comes to the Wisconsin-based WEL, which provides trucking and warehouse services to large corporations, from Hogan Transportation Companies, where he most recently was regional safety manager.
Discover Financial Services has hired Travis Stouffer as lead compliance specialist. Stouffer previously worked at Western Union in various roles, most recently as manager of the anti-bribery and corruption team.
Pharmaceutical manufacturer Lonza has picked up Matthew Hsu as director of ethics and compliance. Hsu comes to Lonza after a year at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, where he had been senior director of vendor and third-party compliance.
Nigerian fintech startup Supply Smart has hired Daniel Fadahunsi as head of risk and compliance. Fadahunsi comes to the firm after two years at Sabi Microfinance Bank, where he had been chief compliance officer.
In Australia, Luke Raven has joined banking software firm Constantinople as head of fraud and financial crime. Raven had been doing consulting work for most of the last year; prior to that he worked on financial crimes compliance for the Bank of Queensland.
TAJ Holding Group, a large Saudi Arabian conglomerate spanning all sorts of industries, has hired Sumit Chaudhari as group internal audit manager. He previously held senior risk and audit roles at Al-Fanar Projects and Takween Advanced Industries.
Faiza Al-Jabri has joined the Port of Duqm Co. in Oman as head of internal audit. Al-Jabri comes to the port from Marafiq, a utilities company in Oman.
And Cheryl Kondra, head of internal audit for Tractor Supply Co., has been appointed to the board of Accel Entertainment. More compliance and audit peeps on boards! (Kondra is already on the board of Galaxy Gaming, too.)
Moving Up the Ladder
American Red Cross has moved Marie McCormack from deputy chief ethics and compliance officer to chief counsel for ethics, compliance, and mission support.
BOK Financial has promoted Elise Heigle from IT audit manager to IT audit senior manager.
Citibank has promoted Prateik Mehta from vice president and audit manager to senior vice president and senior audit manager.
GreenSky has promoted Brian Madonia from chief audit executive to senior vice president and head of internal audit. (Reviving the age-old debate: is a “head” higher than a “chief”?)
Philadelphia Insurance Companies has promoted Katie Jones from vice president of compliance to senior vice president.
Western Union has promoted Jonathan Snurka from senior manager for information security to director of the risk and compliance security office.
