Compliance Jobs
This week we begin at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, which has hired Hannah Putnam as head of ethics and compliance for the pharma giant’s oncology division. Putnam comes to Takeda from Veloxis Pharmaceuticals, where she had been senior director of ethics and compliance.
Kristin Auld has a new job as deputy general counsel of Nuclear Co. She previously has been assistant general counsel at Redwood Materials, a maker of renewable energy equipment, where she had been responsible for building the company’s compliance program.
Highridge Medical, a medical device manufacturer based in Colorado, has hired David Carr as senior compliance and international counsel. Carr joins Highridge after a year at Edwards Lifesciences, where he had been regulatory director.
Vanessa Zhang is apparently out as chief compliance officer at cryptocurrency trading platform OKX, as part of a larger restructuring of the exchange’s legal and compliance operations after a regulatory settlement earlier this year. Zhang had been at OKX since 2022.
LaSalle Vaughn has parted ways with Altruist, a custodian firm for registered investment advisers, where Vaughn had been chief ethics and compliance officer since last summer. No word on what he might be doing next.
Trupanion, the pet medical insurance people, has hired Jeff Gorda as compliance manager. Gorda joins the firm from Transamerica, where he had been a senior compliance analyst for three years. (Am I the only one who hears “trupanion” and that Marc Cohn song “True Companion” instantly comes to mind? If it’s stuck in my head, I’m taking you all down with me.)
British investment fund Altum Capital Management has hired Reggie Doge as U.K. compliance director. Doge was last seen at Atomic Invest, a fintech firm based in New York, where she had been general counsel.
IQVIA has hired Paige Steigerwalt as a senior compliance consultant. Steigerwalt comes to IQVIA after nearly six years at Ernst & Young, where she most recently was a manager in the firm’s AML compliance practice.
The University of Notre Dame has hired John Heck as associate athletic director for compliance. Heck comes to Notre Dame after eight years at the Coastal Athletic Association, where he most recently was senior associate commissioner for compliance.
Jonas Emilsson has been hired by Navy Federal Credit Union as manager of enhanced due diligence and OFAC compliance. Emilsson comes to Navy Federal from First Internet Bank, where he had been vice president in charge of anti-money laundering compliance.
Agnieszka Bienka has joined Fiserv as a compliance director, working from the IT consulting giant’s offices in Ireland. Bienka previously worked at Global Payments for a year as compliance officer.
Methode Electronics has hired Elissa Hernández as compliance manager. Hernández previously worked at 1HMX, a computer equipment manufacturer, as global ethics and compliance officer.
Ebosetale Akhetuamen has joined OneDosh, a payments firm catering to Africans living abroad, as compliance officer. Akhetuamen comes to OneDosh from staffing company Michael Page, where she had been compliance officer at the firm’s London operations.
City National Bank of Florida has hired Fabio Costa as vice president of governance, risk, and compliance. Costa comes to the bank after three years at Enstar Group, where he most recently had been manager of cybersecurity risk and compliance.
Aeon, a nonprofit developing affordable homes in the Minneapolis region, has hired Shannon Jones as director of compliance. Jones previously worked for several years as director of compliance at Roers Cos., another Minnesota real estate firm.
Yobi AI, an artificial intelligence startup working on more reliable large language models, has hired Kelly Peterson as chief privacy and compliance officer. Peterson comes to Yobi from Grindr, where she most recently had been chief privacy officer.
Dan Gilpin just turned up at CPP Investments in Ontario, where he is manager of assurance and advisory work. Gilpin was last seen at Algonquin Power & Utility, where he had been vice president of compliance and ethics until May 2024.
CadRemit, a payments business that specifically works on transactions from Canada to Nigeria, has hired Deborah Macarthy as senior compliance officer. Mccarthy, who is based in Lagos, joins CadRemit from 9PSB, another Nigerian payments business, where she was a compliance and onboarding specialist.
IDFC First Bank, one of the larger commercial banks in India, has hired Srishti Lele as compliance manager for testing. Lele comes to IDFC from Bajaj Finserv, where she had been deputy manager for compliance.
Ameriprise Financial Services has hired Sagar Sharma as a senior compliance analyst, working at Ameriprise’s operations center in India. Sharma comes to Ameriprise from Wells Fargo, where he was a compliance testing specialist.
And Elizabeth Owen has moved on from Berkshire Bank, where she had been senior vice president for AML compliance and fraud prevention; to join First Bank of the Lake in Missouri, where she will also be senior vice president for AML and Bank Secrecy Act compliance.
Moving Up the Ladder
Defense contractor RTX (parent company of Raytheon and United Technologies) has promoted Cherie Raven from director of ethics and compliance to global ethics and compliance officer.
Shoprite Group, the largest retailer in Africa, has promoted Elmien Du Plessis from compliance officer of the OK franchise to group compliance officer for the entire business.
Accenture has promoted Ysabelyn Ruiz from compliance and ethics counsel specialist to due diligence manager, working from Accenture’s offices in Argentina.
Buzz Bingo, “the U.K.’s biggest bingo club on the high street,” has promoted Sami Dunkley from compliance administrator to compliance officer.
IndiGo has promoted Aakriti Mehrotra from senior manager of ethics and compliance to associate director of the same.
JLL has promoted Bhoopathy Srinivasan from assistant compliance manager to compliance manager for the firm’s India operations.
Northern Trust has promoted Michelle MacCaull from compliance consultant to senior consultant on anti-financial crime.
And NBT Bank has promoted Madison Wayman from associate compliance specialist to compliance specialist.
Banco Popular in Puerto Rico has promoted Dinelia Sostre from business operations officer to compliance officer.
Open Req Orders
The University of Kentucky is looking for a director of its conflicts of interest program. Job is based in Lexington, Ky., with a salary range of $81,000 to $138,700. Deadline to apply is June 4, so get cracking!
Citibank is looking for a head of Fair Lending, privacy, and generative AI compliance, reporting into Citi’s head of Fair Lending. Job can be based in any of several Citi locations, including Wilmington, Del., Tampa, Fla., and Charlotte, N.C.; with a salary range of $170,000 to $300,000.
Ares Management is seeking a vice president of corporate compliance. Job is based in New York, with a salary range of $180,000 to $225,000.
