Compliance Jobs
This week we begin at Ferrari, where Paolo Marpillero Errera announced this week that he is leaving the company after five years there as head of compliance. Errera didn’t say what he will do next, but did mention that he will start a great new professional chapter sometime soon. Not sure who might succeed Errera as head of compliance, although Marco Lovati is the company’s chief internal audit, risk, and compliance officer.
RTÉ, the public broadcaster of Ireland, has named Eleanor O’Shaughnessy chief risk and compliance officer. O’Shaughnessy comes to RTÉ from retailer Primark, where she has been director of risk and compliance since 2023. She joins the broadcaster after an accounting scandal that blew up last year and led to calls for stronger risk and compliance oversight.
Here in the United States, Jazz Pharmaceuticals has hired Jennifer Dubas as chief ethics and compliance officer. Dubas comes to Jazz from Cencora (previously known as AmerisourceBergen), where she had been chief compliance officer since 2023.
The University of West Florida has hired David Bryant as chief audit executive after a six-month search. Bryant comes to the university from the Escambia County School District near Pensacola, Fla., where he had been director of internal auditing. He succeeds Cindy Talbert, who is retiring from UWF after 15 years.
John Amberg has announced that he is leaving Northern Trust Co., where he has been chief ethics and compliance officer since 2023, “to take up another challenge” in New York. We don’t yet know what that challenge is, but Northern Trust (which is based in Chicago) is recruiting to find a successor.
Remember Jennifer Kwong, global director of ethics and compliance at John Deere until the start of this year? She just turned up at OSI Group, a huge (and privately held) food business based in Illinois, where she is corporate compliance officer.
Virginia MacSuibhne, chief compliance officer at Agilent Technologies until last fall, has popped up at Alumis, a biotech startup working on treatments for immune disorders; she’s executive director of legal compliance. (Her Etsy shop selling ethics and compliance merch is still going.)
Cadeler, an offshore wind services provider in Denmark, has hired Mette Norup as business ethics and compliance manager. Norup joins the company from Force Technology, another Danish renewable energy services firm, where she had been ethics and compliance officer for four years.
In Australia, Ashleigh Lenfesty has joined Commonwealth Bank as executive manager of the bank’s compliance advisory team. Lenfesty previously worked at Westpac for nearly five years as a senior manager in its consumer finance compliance team.
Bandhan Bank, a large private-sector bank in India, has hired Navin Sharma as chief audit executive. Sharma was previously head of business internal audit at ICICI Bank for nine years.
Irvin Thevaranjan has joined Braze, maker of customer engagement software, as technology audit manager. Thevaranjan comes to Braze from GrubHub, where he had been head of GRC for North America.
Cardless, a tech company that helps businesses launch branded credit cards, has hired Kelvin Castro as compliance officer. Castro previously worked for two years at Pomelo, a money-transfer business, where he was senior compliance officer.
Jamie Homme has joined TheroPay, a cross-border payments startup, as chief compliance officer. Homme comes to the company from Pockyt, another cross-border payments startup, where she had been compliance officer.
Itohan Iyomahan has joined T-Mobile as a senior compliance manager. Iyomahan previously worked at Target for two years as a senior compliance consultant.
And Fiserv has hired Rhonda Johnson as collections compliance manager. Johnson previously worked at PwC for three years as a senior associate.
Moving Up the Ladder
Toyota Motor North America is promoting Dawn Pittman Collins to be its next chief ethics and compliance officer, effective next month. Collins has been with TMNA since 2020 and is currently assistant general counsel. She succeeds Jacqueline Thomas, who has been CCO at the company since 2015 and is retiring in July.
KeyBank has moved Hannah Illencik from vice president of regulatory relations to enterprise data quality lead. (Reminding all of us yet again that data management is crucial for successful modern compliance programs.)
CSU Digital, a mid-sized IT services firm in Brazil, has promoted Marco Camerini from consultant for compliance, risk, and whistleblower reporting to “superintendent” of the same — which is an awesome title, and all compliance officers should now demand it.
Downing has promoted Jack Margiotta from senior compliance officer to compliance manager.
Home Depot has promoted Omar Velazquez from business operations analyst to compliance manager.
Lennox has promoted Gilberto Mendez from global trade compliance principal to trade compliance manager.
Plus500, a Dubai-based fintech firm, has promoted Alex Packham from compliance executive to head of compliance.
Broadview Federal Credit Union has promoted Erica Hebler from director of regulatory compliance reporting to vice president of regulatory compliance.
And American Palace Casino has promoted Michael Johnson from internal audit manager to director of internal audit.
Vendors & Service Providers
News in the compliance vendor world! GRC software giant Diligent has acquired Vault Platform, an internal reporting software firm started in 2019. Purchase price was not disclosed, which is a total bummer for nosy people like me. This is Diligent’s second compliance-related acquisition lately; it also scooped up boutique advisory firm Spark Compliance in February.
Open Req Orders
Otis Elevator is looking for a director of ethics and compliance for North America. Otis itself is based in Chicago, but the job can be remote. No salary range included.
WSSC Water, the water utility serving Prince George and Montgomery counties in Maryland, is looking for an associate general counsel for ethics investigations and compliance. Job is based in Laurel, Md., with a salary range of $135,000 to $231,000.
Sempra Infrastructure is hiring an anti-corruption compliance counsel. Job is based in Houston, with an oddly specific salary range of $145,900 to $243,700 — but honestly, I’m impressed that any company in Texas includes a salary range.
