Compliance Jobs Report: Dec. 19
Our last Compliance Jobs Report of the year is as comprehensive as ever! Big news in the auto sector this week, as two compliance chiefs take their leave; plus hiring news at Bank of America, Coloplast, Anduril Industries, PayPal, and elsewhere. We also have a slew of promotions to note, and job leads in defense contracting, insurance, and consulting.
We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs
We begin with departures in the auto industry. First, Beth Rose is retiring this week as chief compliance officer and deputy general counsel at Ford Motor Co. Rose had been with Ford in various roles for 30 years, the last seven of them as chief compliance officer. It seems that Sarah Fortt, Ford’s deputy general counsel and corporate secretary since the start of 2025, will run compliance matters for now; unclear to me whether Ford will name a permanent new CCO.
Next up, Helen Aldridge is leaving Volkswagen, where she had been chief integrity and compliance officer since 2023 (and previously held other compliance roles at VW since 2018). Aldridge is the second high-level compliance executive to depart Volkswagen recently; her U.S. counterpart Stephanie Davis left one month ago. Aldridge’s successor will be Johannes Freiler-Waldburger, who keeps a low profile on LinkedIn but apparently has been with VW for several years and ran compliance at other German industrial conglomerates prior to that.
SEI Corp., a technology provider in the financial services industry, has hired Chris Beevor as chief compliance officer. Beevor comes to SEI after six years at GAM Investments in London, where he had been chief compliance officer.
Kira Wortman has been hired by Coloplast as North America audit and investigations leader. Wortman comes to the medical device giant after three years at SkyWater Technology, where she most recently had been senior manager for ethics and compliance.
RBC Global Asset Management has hired Meghan Lind as associate director of marketing compliance. Lind joins RBC from John Hancock, where she had been senior compliance consultant and distribution compliance reporting lead since 2022.
Anduril Industries, a next-generation defense contractor backed by Silicon Valley kook reclusive investor Peter Thiel, has hired Vijay Madan as international trade compliance leader. Madan joins Anduril after 10 years at Northrop Grumman, where he most recently had been manager of international trade compliance.
Timur Khasanov-Batirov, a great compliance officer to know whenever you’re passing through Amsterdam, has a new job as chief compliance officer at Enreach, a Dutch IT services firm. He previously worked as compliance officer at Dutch food business Enza Zaden.
Staying in Amsterdam, Assurant has hired Emre Kaan Altun as head of compliance for its operations there. Altun comes to the insurance giant from Bank of China, where he had been compliance officer for the bank’s Netherlands operations.
Two hiring items from Bank of America. First, Christopher Shirk has joined the bank as director of global financial crimes compliance; Shirk previously worked at Deutsche Bank for 21 years, most recently as head of anti-financial crimes compliance for Canada and Latin America. Second, Omar Hassan has also been hired as an assistant vice president and financial crimes investigator; he previously worked at Protiviti for a year as a financial crimes analyst.
Abeona Therapeutics, a biopharma startup based in Cleveland, has hired Natasha Thoren as head of compliance. Thoren comes to Abeona from X4 Pharmaceuticals, where she had been general counsel and chief compliance officer since 2023.
PayPal just hired Helena Bambi-Lolo as a financial crimes compliance manager in its U.K. operations. She previously worked at Deloitte for seven years, wrapping up there as a manager in the firm’s financial crimes advisory practice.
In India, the delightfully named Bigbasket (largest online supermarket in the country, I’m told) has hired Sree Menon as senior executive for ethics and compliance. Menon had previously been legal officer at LuLu Group of India.
In Uzbekistan, Sergey Dovgulya has been hired as chief ethics and compliance officer at Beeline Uzbekistan, a local subsidiary of the VEON telecommunications empire. Dovgulya previously spent 10 years at Chinese telecommunications equipment giant ZTE Corp., most recently as director of compliance for Europe and former Soviet republics.
German software giant Aptiv has hired Oxana Korkunova as global trade compliance manager for the EMEA region. Korkunova, who’s based in Ireland, comes to Aptiv from A.P. Moller-Maersk, where she was team lead for customs compliance.
Marcela Pittelli has joined Vallourec, a French maker of oil and gas pipelines, as group head of internal investigations. Pittelli comes to Vallourec from Forensic Risk Analysis, where she had worked for seven years in the anti-corruption and fraud investigations practice.
We-Care Staffing, a healthcare staffing agency, has hired Prasad Pawar as head of U.S. compliance and onboarding. Pawar comes to We-Care from ZealoTech People, where he had been a senior recruitment specialist.
Connie Freeman has joined Philips as global trade compliance manager for North America. Freeman previously worked at Illuminate USA as customs and global trade manager.
Sharon Greenbach has joined Zest AI as assistant general counsel and head of compliance. Greenback comes to Zest (it’s some sort of AI play in the lending sector) from Discover Financial, where she’d been senior counsel since 2022.
Equinix, one of the big players in construction of data centers, has hired Dolores Bonilla as a senior compliance specialist. Bonilla was last seen early this year at Clorox, where she was also a senior compliance (and HR) specialist.
And Foodbuy USA, a procurement services business (and subsidiary of the Compass Group), has hired Ashtyn Barile as a senior compliance specialist. Barile previously worked as an event coordinator at Strategic Wealth Designers in Charlotte, N.C. Welcome to the profession, Ms. Barile.
Milestones
First, we regret to report the death of Peter de Konick, chief auditor of the SWIFT international payments network; he passed away last week after battling brain cancer. De Konick had held internal audit roles at SWIFT for nearly 30 years, and had recently joined the board of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Belgium chapter. He will be missed.
And we have a notable item from the political world, too: Jennifer Davenport, senior director of compliance for the Public Service Enterprise Group, has been nominated to be New Jersey’s next state attorney general by Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill. Davenport has long experience in the New Jersey AG’s office, having served two stints as first assistant attorney general since 2018. Her nomination needs confirmation by the state senate, but we always love to see compliance professionals in public office.
Moving Up the Ladder
AHS Staffing, a healthcare staffing agency, has promoted Katie Kaufmann from compliance supervisor to compliance manager.
Apollo Global Management has promoted Renata Ciampi from associate director of compliance to director.
Steel-maker Cleveland-Cliffs has promoted Adam Kerr from manager of financial reporting to director of corporate reporting, compliance, and accounting.
Constellation Brands has promoted Theresa LeFebvre from senior IT auditor to manager of SOX compliance.
Fidelity Investments has promoted Christopher Maloney from senior compliance adviser to director of compliance.
Energy company Grifols has promoted Sarah Demery from quality manager to compliance auditor.
Hewlett Packard has promoted Bogdan Stefan from internal audit lead to senior financial governance and SOX compliance lead.
Australian bank Medibank has promoted Harvey Wong from head of risk and compliance mastery (why would anyone want to relinquish that title?) to head of risk and compliance frameworks, policies, and insurance management.
One Rock Capital Partners has promoted Odessa Miller from senior associate for compliance to vice president of compliance.
Carolina Diaz has moved up at PayPal, from global investigations manager to head of financial crimes intelligence and investigations.
Matthew Wentland has a new role at PGIM, the asset management arm of Prudential Financial, moving from director of compliance to vice president of the same.
TIAA has promoted Michael King from senior compliance associate to manager of risk and compliance officer.
And two promotions at mutual fund giant Vanguard. First, Jackie Brown has moved up from compliance manager to head of central compliance (is there a separate head of peripheral compliance?) in the U.K. and Europe. In the United States, Meaghan Robinson has been promoted from senior human resources partner to director of enterprise compliance and governance.
Open Req Orders
Raytheon is looking for a global ethics and compliance investigator. Job is based in Boston. Salary range is a rather ridiculously wide $147,000 to $295,000.
Reinsurance Corporation of America is hiring a global chief compliance officer. Job can be based in St. Louis, New York, or Toronto; with a salary range of $294,000 to $443,000.
And for you early-career folks, Booz Allen is looking for an ethics coordinator. Job is based in Washington, D.C. Salary range is $55,000 to $126,000. (Although Booz would prefer candidates to have at least five years’ experience, which sounds a bit senior for the mostly five-figure salary being offered.)
