Compliance Jobs Report: Oct. 24

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has hiring news at Amazon, Philip Morris, Harman International, ICE (no, not that one), Emirates, and more. Indivior has had a changing of the compliance guard, plus other promotions at Bristol Myers Squibb, Comcast, Kohler, Rio Tinto, and elsewhere. We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Mihm comes to Harman after nine years at Littlefuse, where she had been director of sustainability, ethics, and compliance.

Financial services firm Innovayte has hired Daniel Cruz as director of IT risk and compliance. Cruz had been working at Innovayte on a contract basis for a few months; prior to that he was senior IT auditor at Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Ares Capital Management has tapped Courtney Waller as associate vice president for compliance. Waller joins Ares from asset management giant KKR, where she had been senior compliance officer.

Bud Hertig has departed Select Portfolio Servicing, a mortgage servicer based in Salt Lake City, after 17 years there as head of internal audit and risk management. What’s next? Hertig moved over to First Electronic Bank, also in Salt Lake City, where he is vice president of compliance and testing.

J.R. Starnes has been hired at America’s Car-Mart, a chain of more than 150 car dealerships across Middle America; he’s manager of compliance and IT controls. Starnes comes to the Arkansas company after a year at UltraViolet Cyber, a cybersecurity firm, where he had been customer success lead. (We congratulate Starnes on the new job, but honestly his prior company has the way cooler name.)

The Friedkin Group, a holding company of assorted automotive and entertainment businesses owned by billionaire Dan Friedkin, has hired Leslie Scott as compliance and ethics lead. Scott previously worked at Hess Corp. as senior compliance analyst.

Kara Haddock has joined Centene Corp. as a compliance analyst. Haddock comes to Centene after 17 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, where she had also been a compliance analyst.

Aldar, a real estate development firm headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has hired Mohamed Fathy as head of financial crimes compliance. Fathy comes to the firm (which has developed numerous large hospitality properties in the UAE) from Deriv, a Maltese financial services firm, where he had been in charge of anti-money laundering compliance.

Emirates has hired Lakshmi Sasidharan as group internal audit analyst. Sasidharan joins the airline after a year at Aster DM Healthcare in Dubai as assistant internal audit manager.

In Cyprus, Stefani Ioannou has joined trading firm FxPro as compliance officer. Ioannou previously worked at Rynat Trading for two years as head of compliance and anti-money laundering.

And in Iraq, Sara Hassan has joined payments firm QiCard as deputy chief compliance officer. Hassan comes to QiCard after a year as deputy general manager at Areeba, a payments firm based in the UAE.

Moving Up the Ladder

Our promotions news this week starts with a changing of the guard at Indivior. First, Cindy Cetani has retired after seven years there as chief integrity and compliance officer. Succeeding her in that role (and title) is Kevin Espinosa, who has been vice president of integrity and compliance since he joined Indivior in 2023.

AIB, a major retail bank in Ireland, has promoted Shauna McLoughlin from group AML compliance manager to head of financial crimes change compliance.

American Express has promoted Rahul Gupta from director of internal audit to vice president of internal audit.

Kathleen Suplicki has been promoted at Bristol Myers Squibb from manager of government pricing, compliance, and reporting to senior manager of the same.

Bridgestone has promoted Carolina Santos de Silva from head of corporate compliance for the EMEA region to director of corporate compliance and antitrust for the Western hemisphere.

BP has promoted Kim Murphy from regulatory compliance subject matter expert to global regulatory compliance manager.

Cannon Design promoted Emily Londos from legal counsel and associate vice president to ethics and compliance attorney. (A move like that might seem lateral-ish, but any addition of “compliance” to your title is an automatic promotion in our book.)

Charles Schwab has promoted Lindsey Harding from senior manager of internal audit to director of the same.

Chronicle Heritage, which helps groups to manage historical and cultural heritage sites, has promoted Evan McCurdy from director of quality and improvement to senior director of quality and compliance.

Comcast has promoted Breann Howell from manager of technical accounting to senior manager of accounting policy and SOX compliance.

General Dynamics Land Systems has promoted Jay Bush from supervisor to compliance manager.

The GRODT Group, a gambling concern based in Malta, has promoted Marco Ramunno from compliance officer to senior compliance officer.

KeyBank has moved up Michael Baudo from compliance associate for anti-money laundering to senior compliance associate for enterprise AML compliance.

Kohler, maker of home faucets and similar plumbing products, has promoted Andew Gebhardt from senior trade compliance analyst to trade compliance manager.

OpenLane, an online wholesale marketplace for used cars, has promoted Kristen Stranko from financial operations supervisor to SOX compliance manager.

Rio Tinto has promoted Scott Hansen from director of compliance to director of ethics and compliance for Asia-Pacific. (Same rule: any addition of “ethics” to your title also automatically qualifies as a promotion.)

And defense contracting giant RTX Corp. has promoted Alex Brilla from senior manager of the finance program to associate director of internal audit.
