Compliance Jobs Report: Nov. 21

This week the Compliance Jobs Report has new hires at Convatec, Wise, TikTok, Zoll Medical, Fidelity Investments, and elsewhere; plus departures at Volkswagen and Raytheon. A bunch of promotions to note too, as well as job leads in credit cards, pharmaceutical sales, and higher education. Meme of the Week goes out to Ye Olde AI Governance Policy.

We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.

Compliance Jobs

This week we begin at medical device maker Convatec, which just hired Margaret Price as chief compliance officer. Price comes to the company after not quite four years at AtriCure, where she had also been chief compliance officer; prior to that she had been a senior ethics and compliance executive at Abbott

Stephanie Davis is stepping away from Volkswagen Group of America, where she has been chief ethics and compliance officer since 2017. Davis says she and her family are moving back to Ohio “and I couldn’t be more ready for what’s ahead.” We’ll be curious to see what that might be!

Payments technology firm Wise has hired Nita Patel as chief compliance officer. Patel comes to Wise after a year at Deutsche Bank, where she had been head of anti-money laundering; prior to that she was a senior compliance officer at Credit Suisse (may it rest in peace).

compliance jobsTikTok has hired Rob Cherofsky as global head of AML compliance. Cherofsky has spent the last few years as an AML compliance officer at fintechs including Wise and Albert; prior to that he spent seven years moving up the ranks at JPMorgan Chase & Co

Speaking of JPMorgan Chase, the firm just hired Chris DePow as executive director of digital asset compliance. DePow previously worked at cryptocurrency firm Gemini for 18 months as head of the compliance advisory team.

Caringal comes to the company after three years at Suncorp New Zealand, where he had been manager of risk, data analytics, and reporting. Caringal also relocated from Auckland, N.Z., to London. (Tough decision, both cities have a lot going for them.)

Townsend comes to the company after three years as chief compliance officer for RSA’s U.K. and international operations.

Mill Point Capital has promoted Janine Diljohn from compliance manager to deputy compliance officer.

And Jo Glasgow has been promoted at Just Climate, an investment firm targeting green energy, from global head of compliance to chief compliance officer. This revives the age-old question of whether “head” or “chief” is the cooler term to have in your title; Radical Compliance remains undecided. Compliance Meme of the Week

This week’s meme reportedly comes from an IBM training manual used in 1979. I’m not sure whether that origin story is accurate, but does it need to be? The message is what resonates (or should, if your company knows what’s good for it).

That’s all for this week’s report. Please note, there will be no Jobs Report next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. We’ll be back on Friday, Dec. 5, as usual.

As always, if you have a tip or want to brag about your new job, promotion, career milestone, or anything else, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn. I’m always happy to give credit to the many hard-working people here in our corner of the business universe.
