Compliance Jobs Report: June 13
Another big Compliance Jobs Report this week. We have an update on the former CCO at Ferrari, two compliance folks leaving Victoria’s Secret, new hires at RealPage, Intuitive, Loews, Moneycorp, and Revolut; and a slew of promotions. Job leads are in banking, economic development, and utility poles; and Meme of the Week goes out to Google’s new compliance spending plans.
Always remember that we need your help to make the Report work, so send me some news! You can easily find updates from your LinkedIn contacts by visiting the My Network tab on your own profile and then checking the Stay in Touch option at the top of that page.
We also take any other gossip you might have, even confidentially. If you have a tip to pass along, email me at [email protected] or find me on LinkedIn.
Compliance Jobs
First we have an update on Paolo Errera, who quit as head of compliance at Ferrari in May. He just turned up at Webuild, the Italian construction and engineering giant, where he is compliance director. Still not sure who will be running compliance at Ferrari as his successor. If you know, let me know.
Mark Weintraub has joined SiriusPoint, an insurance underwriter, as head of internal audit. Weintraub previously worked at Kemper for four years as head of assurance and advisory services.
Intuitive, maker of equipment for robotic-assisted surgery, has hired Walter Fong as director of global trade compliance for the Americas. Fong previously spent 12 years at Levi Strauss as senior director on global trade compliance.
Ebara Elliott Energy has hired David Riggle as senior global corporate compliance manager. Riggle comes to Ebara after a decade at Ametek Process Instruments, where most recently he had been manager of EHS and trade compliance.
RealPage, the AI software company that helps landlords set rents (and is currently the target of lots of litigation), has hired Tiffany Gregorczyk as payments compliance manager. Gregorczyk comes to the Texas-based company from Royal Banks of Missouri, where most recently she was vice president of compliance.
The one and only Billy Hughes has turned up at Circana, a market research firm headquartered in Chicago, as vice president of global ethics and compliance. Hughes comes to Circana from Victoria’s Secret, where he had been assistant vice president for anti-corruption.
Alissandra Balisi has also left Victoria’s Secret, where she had been a senior legal analyst in anti-corruption and third-party risk since 2021. Balisi decamped to Paxos, some blockchain startup that I don’t quite understand, where she is program manager for compliance and ethics.
Retail giant Loews has hired Kaimi Jones as senior corporate counsel for compliance, privacy, and AI governance. (We’re going to see more job titles like that, I think, since all three go together.) Jones previously worked for four years at OpenDoor, an online real estate firm, where she was associate general counsel and compliance officer.
Ascent Developer Solutions, which helps to arrange financing for large real estate developments, has hired Fred Galarraga as director and compliance officer. Galarraga comes to the Los Angeles-based firm from Elemi Bank, where he had been corporate compliance and risk officer.
Advance Capital Management, a fee-only financial planning firm, has hired Elizabeth Gardner as chief compliance officer. Gardner previously worked at TwinFocus, a Boston-based investment management firm for “global ultra-high net worth” clients (so, not me), where she had been chief compliance officer.
Jessica Brand has returned to Carvana as compliance team lead. Brand previously worked at Carvana for eight years in various project manager roles, until she left last year to join fintech startup Upgrade, also as a project manager. Apparently that didn’t pan out and she is back at her old employer.
New Jersey-based Peapack Private Bank & Trust has hired A. Michael Smith as chief audit executive. Smith had previously been chief audit executive at Nasdaq until he parted ways with the trading exchange last summer.
Ricardo Araujo has been hired by Patelco Credit Union as chief audit executive. Araujo joins the California-based credit union after four years at Fremont Bank, where he had been chief enterprise risk officer.
Michael Santa-Maria has joined Moneycorp as a compliance operations associate. Santa-Maria comes to Moneycorp from Caesar’s Sportsbook and Casino, where he worked on fraud and payments compliance. He’ll also be working with John O’Connell, newly hired as Moneycorp CCO last month.
Marc McCain is the new chief compliance officer at Revolut, the London-based bank and fintech giant. McCain previously ran Doo Financial, a broker-dealer and financial services firm based in Texas, since 2019.
Dutch financial services firm Da Vinci has hired Michael Rosselli as compliance officer and U.S. counsel. Rosselli joins the firm from R.J. O’Brien, a small-ish financial services firm in Chicago, where he had been a staff attorney.
Brokerage house Charles Schwab has hired Josh Wood as compliance manager for retail testing. Wood comes to Schwab from Ameriprise Financial Services, where he had been compliance manager for field office inspections since 2022.
Robin Davidson has joined SocketFiber, an internet services provider in Missouri, as compliance officer. Davidson previously worked at Vexus Fiber, another regional internet provider, as regulatory compliance officer.
GoDaddy has hired Emma Wirth as senior SOX compliance and risk management officer. Wirth comes to the web hosting giant after a few years at PwC, where she most recently was a senior associate in the firm’s cybersecurity practice.
In Australia, Zac Evans has joined peer-to-peer payments company Zepto as head of compliance. Evans comes to Zepto after 10 years at Global Payments, where he most recently had been general manager for risk and compliance.
Another from Down Under! Tash Hartig has joined Scope, a large disability support services organization there, as head of enterprise risk, assurance, and compliance. Hartig previously worked at the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools as general manager for governance and risk.
Portuguese asset management firm FGI Capital has hired Graça Luisa Reis as compliance officer. Reis joins FGI from OGMA-Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal (a subsidiary of Embraer), where she had been chief compliance officer.
And Morgan Golden has joined food business Baxters North America as a vendor compliance analyst. Golden comes to Baxters from Groeneveld-BEKA, a maker of fluid control systems, where she had been an inventory control specialist.
Moving Up the Ladder
Sonic Healthcare USA has promoted Ilsa Ramirez from compliance manager to compliance director.
Intact has promoted Lynn Bowen from internal audit manager to GRC specialist.
Amadeus, the Spanish IT consulting services firm, has promoted Marta Fernandez from compliance senior specialist to compliance manager.
Exigo Corp., a government contractor in Colorado, has moved John Hilb from chief technology officer to chief compliance officer.
Hormel Foods has promoted Jennie Wohlfeil from compliance specialist to ethics and compliance associate.
Google has moved Luke Bolton from communications designer for internal events to compliance program manager for YouTube. One wonders whether this is part of Google’s promised expansion of its compliance program.
Continental (the auto parts manufacturer, not the airline) has promoted Michael Loveland from senior consultant to export compliance manager for the Americas.
JERA Americas has promoted David Kirtland from vice president and head of audit to senior vice president and head of audit and compliance.
